~ Artistic Director, Tyra Sergeant “At our Dance Academy, your child will be taught by highly qualified, caring staff who will share their passion for dance and help your children strive for excellence.”

Why Choose our Academy?
We have been in business for over 40 years.
We take pride in fostering every dancer’s full potential.
Many graduates have become professional dancers and teachers.
All classes from Pre-School to Grade 5 have 1 teacher and 1 assistant present each lesson.
Our facility has 3 studios with professional sprung floors, safeguarding the dancers from injury.
Distinction in Dance
Our Academy has one of the highest standards in the Lower Mainland. We teach the Royal Academy of Dance Syllabus, a world-renowned dance education and training organization. Every year, a very high percentage of our students receive Distinction in their RAD Examinations, the highest mark achievable.
We participate in 3 – 4 competitions per year, with extremely high results. We focus on clean and well prepared dances. We have had B.C. Provincial candidates and winners since 1987 and international finalists who performed in the Genee Awards.
All Academy dancers perform in our Annual “Evening of Dance” performances at the Michael J. Fox Theatre.
History of the Academy
The Flora Pigeau Dance Academy was established in 1976. The founder, Miss Flora Pigeau, began the Academy teaching from a small studio in her home in North Delta. As her students flourished, she quickly grew out of her studio and moved into the current facility.
Miss Pigeau trained generations of dancers including many who now dance professionally, B.C. Provincial winners, and most of the Flora Pigeau Dance Academy’s faculty. She continues to inspire dancers, instilling the true meaning of dedication and excellence in dance.
In 2011, Miss Tyra Sergeant, a graduate of the Academy and long time instructor, purchased the Flora Pigeau Dance Academy. She continues to pursue the legacy that Miss Pigeau established so many years earlier. With Miss Tyra’s direction, the Academy continues to flourish and produce highly esteemed dancers.
The 2015/16 season marked the Academy’s 40th Anniversary and Miss Tyra Sergeant’s 5th Anniversary as Artistic Director.
Miss Tyra looks forward to many more years to come.
